Seth Meyers nears deal to host 2018 Golden Globe Awards

  • "Late Night" host Seth Meyers is nearing a deal to host the Golden Globe Awards, Variety reports.
  • Jimmy Fallon hosted the show last year.
  • The Golden Globe Awards premieres on NBC on January 7, 2018.

Seth Meyers is closing in on a deal to host NBC’s Golden Globe Awards telecast on Jan. 7.

The frontman of NBC’s “Late Night With Seth Meyers” is a natural choice for the role. “Tonight Show” star Jimmy Fallon did the honors for the 2017 Globes fete in January.

Meyers takes on the assignment just seven weeks out from the telecast, which marks the 75th annual Globes ceremony. It comes at a tough time for showbiz personalities to be at the helm of a live broadcast, given the intense public focus on sexual harassment and the darker side of working in Hollywood. In this light, awards shows may be viewed by some as an example of ego-stroking largess.

Meyers was approached early on, but did not commit until just the past few days. Ellen DeGeneres and Tiffany Haddish were among the stars approached for the Globes gig in the interim. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler also resisted overtures to return after their much-praised 2013-2015 run. Ricky Gervais was an envelope-pushing Globes emcee from 2010 to 2012 and again in 2016.

Insiders say it’s increasingly becoming a hard sell to line up big stars for hosting gigs. The commitment is significant and the returns for an established personality can be limited.

From the Oscars on down, viewership of major awards franchises is on the decline, while the chances of a host being skewered on social media are definitely on the rise. These days, celebrities are on edge about doing something in public that winds up becoming fodder for mean memes and nasty tweets.

ABC and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences got plenty of “no thanks” before they settled on Jimmy Kimmel for this year’s Oscarcast (Kimmel will be back for a second time in March). CBS earlier this year struggled to find a host for the June telecast of the Tony Awards, in part because “The Late Late Show’s” James Corden did such a good job under pressure in 2016, when the Tonys aired the day after the shooting rampage at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla.

This year’s Tony hosting slot finally went to Kevin Spacey, the decorated actor who has since been disgraced by allegations of sexual harassment and assault from men dating back decades.

Before Gervais’ tenure began, the Globes telecasts frequently aired without a central host.

Earlier Monday, NBC announced plans for a two-hour retrospective on the Globes to air Dec. 13 with “Will & Grace” stars Debra Messing and Eric McCormack set as hosts.

  • Serena Williams stars in a Gatorade commercial where she holds a baby girl and sends a message to her daughter.
  • That baby girl isn't actually her daughter, Alexis Olympia.
  • The real Alexis Olympia was sick, so Gatorade arranged for a body double.

Serena Williams is in a new Gatorade commercial. In it, she cradles a baby girl and sends an inspiring message to her daughter and other girls who care about sports. But the baby in the commercial isn't actually hers.

Williams's real daughter, Alexis Olympia, was sick.

"While Serena intended to have Olympia make her screen debut as part of this film, her daughter was under the weather and unable to be on set, but the sentiment remains the same,"a Gatorade spokesperson told Ad Age.

Gatorade had to arrange for a stand-in at the last minute, according to Ad Age.

Williams hasn't been shy about including her daughter on camera. Two weeks after Alexis Olympia was born, she and her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, showed off a video about William's pregnancy and their daughter's birth.

Williams and Ohanian got married this past weekend, and their daughter was also prominently featured in their wedding photos published in Vogue.

36 women who worked with Al Franken on 'SNL' sign a letter of support amid sexual misconduct allegations against him

Al Franken

  • Nearly four dozen women who worked on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" signed a letter supporting Al Franken.
  • Franken, a Minnesota senator and former "SNL" cast member, is accused of repeated acts of sexual harassment and groping two women.
  • None of the women who signed the letter are currently cast members on the show.
  • On the last episode of "SNL," Franken was mocked during the "Weekend Update" segment.

Nearly four dozen women who worked with Al Franken while he was a cast member on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" signed a letter supporting the Minnesota senator after allegations of sexual harassment and the groping of two women.

"We would like to acknowledge that not one of us experienced inappropriate behavior; and mention our sincere appreciation that he treated each of us with the utmost respect and regard," the statement reads.

The first allegation against Franken — a "Saturday Night Live" employee between 1975 to 1980 and 1985 to 1995 — came last Thursday. TV host Leeann Tweeden accused Franken of several acts of sexual harassment, including kissing and groping her without consent in 2006, during a skit rehearsal meant for military service members. Her story included a photograph of Franken groping her while she was apparently asleep. On Monday, a second woman accused him of groping her during a photo opportunity in 2010, when he was already a senator.

None of the women who signed the letter are current cast members on "Saturday Night Live," but several of them work on the show in other capacities. Mary Ellen Mathews, the show photographer, has been working on "Saturday Night Live" since 1993. Claire Shirey, a script coordinator, has been working with the show since 1982. Christina McGinnis, Lorne Michaels's longtime assistant, also signed the letter.

On the last episode, "Weekend Update" hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che roasted Franken for the groping scandal.

"I know this photo looks bad, but remember, it also is bad," Jost said.

The allegations against Franken are just the latest in a string of allegations surfacing. Many notable Hollywood figures including the actors Kevin Spacey and Ed Westwick have been accused of sexual misconduct ranging from harassment to rape since an October 5 New York Times exposé detailed allegations going back decades against the Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

Representatives for Franken didn't immediately respond to INSIDER's request for comment.

Here's the full letter. It's titled "SNL Women Offer Solidarity in Support of Al Franken."

We feel compelled to stand up for Al Franken, whom we have all had the pleasure of working with over the years on Saturday Night Live (SNL).

What Al did was stupid and foolish, and we think it was appropriate for him to apologize to Ms Tweeden, and to the public. In our experience, we know Al as a devoted and dedicated family man, a wonderful comedic performer, and an honorable public servant. That is why we are moved to quickly and directly affirm that after years of working with him, we would like to acknowledge that not one of us ever experienced any inappropriate behavior; and mention our sincere appreciation that he treated each of us with the utmost respect and regard.

We send our support and gratitude to Al and his family this Thanksgiving and holiday season.

Emilia Clarke vents about fans' obsession with 'Game of Thrones' sex scenes: 'People f--- for pleasure, it's part of life'

Daenerys Targaryen bath season three Game of Thrones

  • Emilia Clarke stars as Daenerys Targaryen on "Game of Thrones."
  • The role has required Clarke to be nude on screen for several major scenes.
  • In a new interview, Clarke seemed tired of discussing the show's portrayal of sex.
  • "There are so many shows centered around this very true fact that people reproduce," Clarke said. "People f--- for pleasure, it's part of life."
  • Warning: Spoilers for "Game of Thrones" season seven below.

"Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke, who plays Mother of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen, seems baffled by people's obsession with discussing the nudity and sex featured on HBO's hit series.

In a new interview with Harper's Bazaar, Clarke was described as venting when the topic of "Game of Thrones" and nudity came up:

I'm starting to get really annoyed about this stuff now because people say, "Oh, yeah, all the porn sites went down when 'Game of Thrones' came back on." I'm like, "The Handmaid's Tale?" I f------ love that show, and I cried when it ended because I couldn't handle not seeing it. That is all sex and nudity.

emilia clarke

"There are so many shows centered around this very true fact that people reproduce,"Clarke said. "People f--- for pleasure — it's part of life."

Clarke's character on "Game of Thrones" has been the focal point of several significant scenes that required nudity. In the pilot for the series, "Winter is Coming," the young Daenerys Targaryen is stripped down and raped by her new husband Khal Drogo. By the season one finale, Daenerys emerges from Drogo's funeral pyre completely naked, covered in ash, and holding three baby dragons.

daenerys dragon Game of Thrones

Clarke appeared nude on screen again for a bath scene on the third season, but didn't appear naked again until season six. In 2015, outlets incorrectly reported that Clarke had told "Game of Thrones" producers she didn't want to do any more nude scenes.

The actress took to Instagram and set the record straight. Her captioned explained that she was "perfectly fine with" scenes involving nudity if it moves the story forwards or adds insight to the characters. She wrote:

Sometimes explicit scenes are required and make sense for the characters/story, as they do in Westeros.
If it's gratuitous for gratuitous sake, then I will discuss with a director on how to make it more subtle. In either case, like a good Mother of Dragons, I'm always in control.

Clarke's season six nude scene involved her burning down a temple full of her would-be rapists and captors and emerging unscathed.

Daenerys Targaryen fire Game of Thrones

Given the actress' leading role on the series, questions about her sex scenes (or badass naked scenes) have followed her throughout every cycle of news.

She's been outspoken when it comes to equality in nudity, saying that more men on "Game of Thrones" should do full-frontal sex scenes. Clarke praised even the very un-sexy male nudity featured on season six, when a character briefly inspects his penis for warts in an close-up shot.

"You know, I did it — so why can't the boys do it?" she said on Stephen Colbert's "The Late Show."

And now, given her newest interview with Harper's Bazaar, she's ready to be asked about something else. Clarke will likely get her wish as "Game of Thrones" hurtles towards its series finale. In season seven, the number of nude scenes tapered off as more important visual shots (like ice dragons or armies of undead wights) took priority.

Of course, Clarke had one of the series' most-discussed sex scenes of all when Daenerys and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) hooked up on the season seven finale. But people were much more focused on the fact that Jon and Daenerys were actually aunt and nephew, and not the nudity (or lack thereof) involved.

Clarke will reprise her role as Daenerys Targaryen for the finale time when the final season of "Game of Thrones" airs, likely in 2019, though no date has been confirmed yet.

Rachel Friends trifle Thanksgiving

  • The most iconic Thanksgiving "Friends" episode is the one where Rachel makes dessert.
  • She accidentally combines two recipes and puts beef in a raspberry trifle.
  • It's made from lady fingers, custard, jam, beef sauteed with peas and onions, more custard, bananas, and whipped cream.
  • Ross says it tastes like feet, but Joey goes back for seconds.
  • "What's not to like?" Joey asks. "Custard? Good. Jam? Good. Beef? Goooood."
  • YouTuber "Binging with Babish" recreated her gross layered dessert in a new video.
  • He assembles the trifle (yes, with custard he made from scratch), but spits it out when he tastes it for the first time.
  • Then "Babish" tries to make a more palatable version of the trifle.
  • His recipe uses cornbread instead of lady fingers, and a béchamel sauce instead of sweet custard.
  • There's also cheese and homemade tostones added on top (instead of bananas).
  • Watch the full video below to see the trifle made in all its glory:

  • David Cassidy, the teen and pre-teen idol who starred in the 1970s sitcom “The Partridge Family, died at age 67 on Tuesday.
  • Cassidy had announced earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with dementia.
  • He was in a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, hospital suffering from organ failure.

NEW YORK (AP) — David Cassidy, the teen and pre-teen idol who starred in the 1970s sitcom “The Partridge Family” and sold millions of records as the musical group’s lead singer, died Tuesday at age 67.

Cassidy, who announced earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with dementia, died surrounded by his family, a family statement released by publicist JoAnn Geffen said. No further details were immediately available, but Geffen said on Saturday that Cassidy was in a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, hospital suffering from organ failure.

“David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long,” the statement said. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”

“The Partridge Family” aired from 1970-74 and was a fictional variation of the ’60s performers the Cowsills, intended at first as a vehicle for Shirley Jones, the Oscar winning actress and Cassidy’s stepmother. Jones played Shirley Partridge, a widow with five children with whom she forms a popular act that travels on a psychedelic bus. The cast also featured Cassidy as eldest son and family heartthrob Keith Partridge; Susan Dey, later of “L.A. Law” fame, as sibling Laurie Partridge and Danny Bonaduce as sibling Danny Partridge.

It was an era for singing families — the Osmonds, the Jacksons. “The Partridge Family” never cracked the top 10 in TV ratings, but the recordings under their name, mostly featuring Cassidy, Jones and session players, produced real-life musical hits and made Cassidy a real-life musical superstar. The Partridges’ best known song, “I Think I Love You,” spent three weeks on top of the Billboard chart at a time when other hit singles included James Taylor’s “Fire and Rain” and Smokey Robinson and the Miracles’ “The Tears of a Clown.” The group also reached the top 10 with “I’ll Meet You Halfway” and “Doesn’t Somebody Want to be Wanted” and Cassidy had a solo hit with “Cherish.”

“In two years, David Cassidy has swept hurricane-like into the pre-pubescent lives of millions of American girls,” Rolling Stone magazine noted in 1972. “Leaving: six and a half million long-playing albums and singles; 44 television programs; David Cassidy lunch boxes; David Cassidy bubble gum; David Cassidy coloring books and David Cassidy pens; not to mention several millions of teen magazines, wall stickers, love beads, posters and photo albums.”

Cassidy’s appeal faded after the show went off the air, although he continued to tour, record and act over the next 40 years, his albums including “Romance” and the awkwardly titled “Didn’t You Used To Be?” He had a hit with “I Write the Songs” before Barry Manilow’s chart-topping version and success overseas with “The Last Kiss,” featuring backing vocals from Cassidy admirer George Michael. He made occasional stage and television appearances, including an Emmy-nominated performance on “Police Story.”

Meanwhile, “The Partridge Family” remained popular in re-runs and Cassidy, who kept his dark bangs and boyish appearance well into middle age, frequently turned up for reunions and spoke often about his early success.

“So many people come up to me and talk to me about the impact it (the show) had,” he told Arsenio Hall in 1990.

Another woman has accused Jeremy Piven of sexual misconduct on the set of HBO's 'Entourage'

  • A fourth woman has come forward to accuse Jeremy Piven of sexual misconduct.
  • Anastasia Taneie told BuzzFeed News that Piven groped her when she was working as an extra on HBO's "Entourage" in April 2009.
  • Piven has denied all accusations of sexual misconduct.

Another woman has come forward accusing actor Jeremy Piven of sexual misconduct on the set of HBO's "Entourage."

Anastasia Taneie, 30, told BuzzFeed News that when she was working as an extra on "Entourage" in April 2009, Piven, one of the show's stars, confronted her in a dark hallway and groped her breast and genitals as he forcefully pushed her against a wall.

Taneie said Piven only stopped groping her when an assistant director walked by, and that Piven then ordered her to be removed from the set, claiming she had initiated inappropriate contact.

Taneie did not file a formal complaint at the time, she told the outlet, because "I was scared at the time nobody was going to believe me. I didn't want to make a scene. I just wanted to go home."

A fellow extra that day, Araceli Giacoman, told BuzzFeed that she and Taneie were among a group whom Piven had approached, and that Piven had spoken quietly to Taneie and took her with him. Giacoman said Taneie returned looking "distraught,""scared," and "shaken."

Another fellow extra, Andy Lobo, told the outlet Taneie was crying after the alleged incident, and that she told him Piven had forced himself on her.

HBO gave the following statement to Business Insider regarding the allegations:

"We reviewed our records and did not receive any complaints against Jeremy Piven on 'Entourage.'  HBO takes sexual harassment very seriously and we make it a priority to ensure that everyone experiences a safe and comfortable work environment."

However, Jason Rupe, who cast extras on the show between 2009 and 2011, told BuzzFeed that he'd received numerous complaints from women who did not want to work on the show again after being verbally harassed by men on the set.

"I do remember being quite frustrated at one point and even maybe telling one or two of the ADs, like, 'Look, this sh--'s gotta stop,'" Rupe said. "These are great actresses that fit exactly what you're looking for, but they don't want to come back because they're getting hassled a lot.'"

Piven, 52, has denied all allegations and supported his denials by providing BuzzFeed with the results of a polygraph test he took on November 13, which the test's examiner said he passed.

A representative for Piven sent Business Insider a statement to the same effect, writing "Mr. Piven denies the situation falsely described. It did not happen. Mr. Piven took and passed a polygraph test to that effect. HBO has confirmed, with a public statement, that there has never been a single complaint about Mr. Piven arising from the production of Entourage, or otherwise."

Piven also contacted BuzzFeed to say that a previous accuser, documentary filmmaker Amy Rachelle Meador, 43, was going to retract claims she made last month to Hollywood Life, about Piven attempting to rape her at her home. Meador instead told BuzzFeed she stood by her story.

Three other women have made sexual misconduct allegations against Piven since last month, including TV personality and actress Ariane Bellamar, "Longmire" star Cassidy Freeman, and advertising executive Tiffany Bacon Scourby.

house of cards

The show must go on, and so “House of Cards” will resume production on its sixth and final season sometime after December 8. That’s according to Deadline, which obtained a letter sent to the Netflix drama’s cast and crew by Pauline Micelli expressing gratitude and underscoring the fact that “this production is bigger than just one person.”

Kevin Spacey, the show’s star, was fired after numerous allegations of sexual misconduct were leveled against him; exactly how he’ll be written off the show remains to be seen.

Dear Cast and Crew,

As we move into the holidays, we want to express our appreciation for all of the meaningful messages of support we have received from you and want to update all of our loyal cast and crew on our progress and where things currently stand.

We continue to work with Netflix with the hope of resuming production soon. As we continue these discussions, we have determined together that the crew will be paid for an additional two week hiatus – beginning on November 27th and continuing through December 8th.

In addition to the writers, there will be a small contingency of office/accounting staff who will remain in the production office on a continuous basis. Our hope is that the entire crew will be able to reconvene when production resumes, but we want you to know that we will certainly understand if crew members need to find other work in the interim, which will prevent them from re-joining us. We sincerely appreciate all you have done.

Cast and other union members who are not actively working will be paid in accordance with applicable union guidelines through this period and we will be reaching out directly to your representatives to work through the details; we will get to everyone as quickly as possible and appreciate all of your patience here.

These last two months have tested and tried all of us in ways none of us could have foreseen. The one thing we have learned throughout this process is that this production is bigger than just one person and we could not be more proud to be associated with one of the most loyal and talented production cast and crews in this business.

We will provide an additional update by 12/8/17.

Thank you all.

'The Walking Dead' finally confirms a big character from the comics — here's what to know

carl walking dead

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Sunday's "The Walking Dead."

"The Walking Dead" finally confirmedthe ID of the mysterious character Rick shot at in the season eight premiere.

As many fans thought, the man Carl came across at the abandoned gas station citing the Quran was Siddiq (Avi Nash) from the comics.

siddiq walking dead

Carl tracked him down on Sunday's episode to bring him food and water and to invite him back to Alexandria.

Actor Avi Nash said on the series' aftershow "Talking Dead" when he landed the role he wasn't told anything about his character.

"They keep it really secret. Super secret," said Nash. "So much so like as we were filming I would just sort of get on the email and email [showrunner] Scott [Gimple] and say, 'All right, you've got to tell me something. Why am I saying all these things?' And so for the first episode and for tonight's I had this long email chain with Scott to get any sort of information that I could and he's really good at giving an actor everything they need for a backstory but not telling them what's going to happen."

For those who aren't familiar with the comic character, here's what you need to know.

Siddiq in the comics

siddiq walking dead

Siddiq is an Arab-American who's introduced in issue #127 of the comic.

His entry onto the show now is a little surprising, because he doesn't appear in the comics until after the current war with Negan is over. At that time, the comic flashes forward two years and Siddiq is part of a construction crew building up Alexandria's thriving community.

In addition to being a handy man, Siddiq is a skilled fisherman. It's a chance meetup with Michonne while out at sea that lands him in Alexandria.

There were multiple timelines going on in the show's season premiere. It's possible we could be watching Carl and Siddiq speaking at a different time on the show, though that would be slightly confusing to the narrative.

Why his entrance onto the TV show is interesting

In the comics, we learn Siddiq was a member of the Oceanside community. That's the very same group viewers saw on the show's seventh season.

oceanside walking dead

The only difference is that the show version of Oceanside is an all-female community. Tara was told that Negan's men killed off all of the men in their group. It's not clear whether or not Siddiq will have an altered background on the show or if he'll wind up being a lone male survivor of the Oceanside community who hasn't been able to reunite with his people.

Siddiq will almost certainly cross paths with Rick this season

rick the walking dead

If you paid close attention to the season premiere, some of Rick's final words on the episode are, "Have mercy prevail over my wrath."

Those words should sound familiar because they were uttered by Nash's character when Carl ran into him.

rick siddiq my mercy prevail over my wrath

It will be interesting to see where Siddiq's character winds up this season.

DON'T MISS: 'The Walking Dead' finally confirms a big character from the comics — here's what to know

The leader of the Savengers, Jadis, is seen making a wire sculpture at the episode's start.

It appeared to be one of a collection of wire animals Jadis makes in her spare time at the junkyard.

Rick wanted to take a cat sculpture for Michonne when he first met the Scavengers in season seven. It was most likely made by Jadis.

If you go even further. Rick was taking that sculpture to replace the one Michonne lost.

Michonne snagged a cat statue in season three when she and Carl raided a café in his old hometown.

Michonne said she couldn't leave it behind because it was "too damn gorgeous." We learned in a season four flashback Michonne was well educated in art.

As far as we know, Michonne had to abandon the cat sculpture at the prison after the Governor's eventual attack.

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Sunday's "The Walking Dead."

"The Walking Dead" may have found its next big power couple and fans can't handle it.

Sunday's episode of the AMC show brought the focus back to Carol and King Ezekiel for an emotional reunion.

The latter has been in a funk after losing many of his men's lives to the Saviors in episode four of the season. Ezekiel's ready to stop his charade as king and throw in the crown now that his beloved tiger is dead, too, but Carol isn't letting him do that so easily.

"I can't do it no more," said a torn down Ezekiel. "I can't be what they need so please just leave me alone."

Carol went to leave but instead asked why Ezekiel kept visiting her when she wanted to be left alone in a house near the kingdom.

"You just make me feel real," Ezekiel admitted after Carol drew it out of him. "Not a fiction. Real."

"You are real ... to me, to the kingdom," said a teary-eyed Carol in response. "Those people need their king to lead them."

carziekel

It was probably the first time we've seen Carol shed real tears in a long time. The emotional pep talk between the two leaders quickly ignited chatter among the fandom about the spark between the two who fans refer to as Carzekiel.

That one exchange in particular melted the fandom's hearts.

If you're just learning about Carzekiel, you're late to the party.

Some fans started shipping Carzekiel back in October 2016 after Carol first met Ezekiel and he came clean to her about putting on a show as a king for his people.

In the comics, it's a different character who catches Ezekiel's eye — the show's resident katana-wielding badass Michonne.

However, the series decided to switch up her character from the comics. She’s currently dating the show’s lead, Rick, to the excitement of many fans who have been 'shipping Richonne for years.

Why Carol may be the perfect match for Ezekiel

Carol’s story came to an end a lot earlier in the comics at the prison after giving up on life. Fans have been calling Carol the show's queen for awhile. Ezekiel may just be her actual royal match.

Even actor Khary Payton who plays Ezekiel previously predicted the two could get together.

After the character dropped by Carol’s temporary home near the Kingdom in season seven, Payton told Chris Hardwick on "Talking Dead" in 2016 there was only one explanation for that.

"He's trying to get laid," Payton said. "You come bearing fruit, yeah!"

"He put on a different shirt," he added. "You know how hard it is to get another shirt in the apocalypse? There's not like an outlet store nearby."

Of course, there’s just one problem with an Ezekiel/Carol pairing. What would Daryl think?

carol daryl the walking dead

Though Daryl has never shown romantic interest in anyone of either gender on the show, fans have been vocal about about seeing Carol and Daryl pair up at some point.

With Carol at the Kingdom and Daryl on a warpath, it doesn’t look like that’s in the cards any time soon.

Sorry Daryl. We're currently team Carzekiel.

We finally know what character from 'The Walking Dead' will be on the show's spin-off — and it's not who fans expected

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for "The Walking Dead" crossover event.

We finally know more about the big "Walking Dead" / "Fear The Walking Dead" crossover event happening on AMC.

Sunday's episode of "Talking Dead"— "The Walking Dead" aftershow — confirmed that Lennie James' character Morgan will be heading over to "Fear the Walking Dead."

"I'm surprised. Yes, it's me. I am joining the cast of 'Fear the Walking Dead,'" James said via video call. "I start shooting tomorrow morning. And I only just finished shooting a week ago in Atlanta."

chris hardwick lennie james

Many expected the crossover character to be fan-favorite Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) who was killed off the show in season seven. "Fear" will be heading to Texas where Abraham's character appeared early in the zombie apocalypse.

A lot of fans were thrown for a loop.

Even more were left wondering if that will mean Morgan may die this season on "The Walking Dead."

James sure made it sound like his leave from "The Walking Dead" is pretty final.

"From the very first moment the whole suggestions of Morgan, my character, going over to 'Fear the Walking Dead,' the hardest part of it from beginning until now has been leaving 'The Walking Dead.' Leaving that cast, leaving that crew," added James. "I've said my goodbyes to the cast and I’ve said my goodbyes to the crew."

James leaving "The Walking Dead" doesn't mean his character is a goner on "The Walking Dead." When we last saw him he walked off on his own into the woods. Maybe he's over this war with Negan and is making his way out of town to the other survivors on "Fear."

"The Walking Dead" showrunner Scott Gimple also sent in a message for fans about Morgan's trajectory on "TWD."

"Even though Morgan is going to be featured on 'Fear,' he has a lot of story left on 'The Walking Dead.' There is also a whole rest of season eight to look forward to of 'The Walking Dead' as well," read Gimple's message. "Morgan's arch on 'The Walking Dead' season eight positioned him for the story on 'Fear.' It was also important to see 'Fear''s world and characters through new, yet familiar eyes."

If you were surprised that Morgan will be heading over to the spin-off, James has subtly given some cryptic teases about his character's mental state in the past.

"I think Morgan comes to Carol and tells her about what happened to Stephen [Yeun] and [Michael] Cudlitz because he's coming to say goodbye, basically," said James on "Talking Dead" in March. "You know, he's going to do what he said he's going to do when he turns around having told her about Abraham and turns around and he says, 'I'm going to walk forward, I'm going to kill every single one of them that I come across' and that's what he intends to do."

James, who called in to the aftershow from Texas, thanked fans for following his adventure on "The Walking Dead" from the 2010 pilot episode.

lennie james twd

"I would like to say to the fans that this incredible journey that I’ve been on — playing Morgan and being on this show — is very, very much down to them. I hope they stick with this journey, because it’s their fault," said James. "I hope they come over with me to 'Fear the Walking Dead' because I’m looking forward to exploring Morgan in a whole different world, in a different realm, with different characters, in a different place."

"The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman first revealed a crossover event between the two series in October at New York Comic Con.

Both shows take place during the same zombie apocalypse. "Fear the Walking Dead," now in its third season, starts around the same time as the beginning of "The Walking Dead."

According to AMC, James will appear on the fourth season of "Fear the Walking Dead."

  • Macsen Lintz plays Henry on "The Walking Dead."
  • If his last name looks familiar, it's because he's the younger brother of Madison Lintz who was on the show in seasons one and two.
  • Both actors have been in scenes with Carol, played by Melissa McBride. On "Talking Dead," McBride said it's tough to do a scene with Macsen and not see Madison.

Macsen Lintz has been playing Kingdomer Henry on "The Walking Dead" since season seven.

If you thought he looked a bit familiar, there's a reason why. His sister was on the show in seasons one and two.

Madison is now 18. Since leaving "The Walking Dead" she has had a recurring role on Amazon's show "Bosch."

Melissa McBride, who plays Carol on the show, spoke about working with both actors on Sunday's aftershow, "Talking Dead."

"They look so similar. I can't do a scene with him [Macsen] and not see her [Madison]," said McBride.

Carol scolded Henry on Sunday's episode for following her into the woods after she deliberately told him to stay put at the Kingdom.

As a result, she yelled at him about what happens to little kids who wander off in the woods.

"I told you not to follow me," Carol says. "Do you know what happens to kids when they go wandering around in the woods? They never get seen again, and, if they do they're monsters. Is that what you want?"

Carol was speaking about losing her daughter Sophia in season two when she ran off into the woods after a herd approached the group. When she was found she was a walking zombie.

Kim Kardashian already knows who she'd want to play her in a movie — and her choice is perfect

Kim Kardashian West

Kim Kardashian has an actress in mind to play her when the biopic about her family inevitably happens. Calm down, it's not Meryl Streep (though we'd pay good money for that movie).

Kim Kardashian, 37, said in a recent interview that if anyone ever made a movie about her, she'd like Jennifer Lawrence, 27, to play her.

"She's so funny. Of course she could! She's the best actress," she said, when asked about Jennifer potentially playing her, in an interview with "Extra" (see video below).

It's definitely an unexpected choice, but it makes sense when you think about it. Who could forget their epic interview on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" when Jennifer guest hosted? They're basically best friends now, and Kim seems like she trusts her to do the part justice.

After all, Jennifer won the Oscar in 2013 for "Silver Linings Playbook." She's been nominated three other times, for her roles in "Winter's Bone,""American Hustle," and "Joy." She could play anyone and nab at least one award for it.

Jennifer Lawrence

While we'd kill to see a Kardashian biopic one day, Jennifer wouldn't be our go-to choice for the Kim role. Nasim Pedrad, 36, who played her on "Saturday Night Live," would be awesome! We have a feeling her natural flair for humor would serve well for the awkward situations Kim often finds herself in, like when her fans basically revolted after they saw she froze rose petals in her ice cubes at her baby shower.

Now we're trying to decide what a Kardashian biopic would be called, and who would play the rest of the family. There are so many good options!

A Victoria's Secret model was shown falling on the fashion show runway and crying backstage on TV — and people are completely shocked

Ming Xi

  • Ming Xi fell on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway, held in Shanghai, China, on November 20.
  • The televised event, which aired on CBS Tuesday, showed the model falling — and even crying backstage.
  • People are surprised the fashion show didn't edit out her fall.
  • Some people think it's refreshing the fall was shown, but most people think it was unnecessary.
  • Others are more upset that she was shown crying.

Model Ming Xi recently made headlines when she fell in front of 18,000 people on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway.

The pre-recorded event — which was held in Shanghai, China, on November 20 — aired on CBS Tuesday, and viewers were surprised to find that Xi's slip-up wasn't edited out of the televised show. It even showed footage of her crying backstage.

The model, who appeared in her fifth Victoria's Secret show, handled her tumble gracefully as she was helped back up by fellow model Gizele Oliviera, and continued her walk as though nothing had happened.

As she made her way offstage, Xi, understandably, burst into tears.

People on Twitter had a lot of feelings about the model's fall being included in the televised show, and many thought that it was unneccessary to show her crying.

Others found the fall refreshing, and even inspiring.

This Twitter user wanted the fall to be part of the show.

Some people offered words of support to Xi.

While Xi was upset immediately after the incident, she is far from the only model to ever fall on the runway — and she later addressed her tumble on social media.

As many of you may already know, I fell during my 5th year walking at the Victoria's Secret show yesterday. It was no doubt one of the hardest moments I have ever had to go through in my career, especially since the show was taking place in my hometown, in front of my mother's and my people's eyes. However, the support I received from everyone yesterday was incredible and I am truly grateful to everyone who was there for me. @ed_razek Thank you for your supportive words and your continuous support throughout these 7 years. @giizeleoliveira Thank you for helping me up after the fall, it was a very selfless and loving act from you. Thank you to all the girls who rushed to comfort me at backstage after what had happened, you are all family to me. Lastly thank you to everyone who sent and left me supportive messages. I will pick myself up from where I fell, and I will keep going in order to repay all the support you all have given me!! ❤️️#vsfashionshow @victoriassecret

She ended her post on a positive note: "I will pick myself up from where I fell, and I will keep going in order to repay all the support you all have given me!!"

Xi also issued a statement on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo.

"I'm sorry to let everyone down. Thanks for everyone's concern," she wrote. "As a model for seven years, I have fallen on this road many times, but I know no matter how painful it is, I must stand and finish. The future road is long. I will always continue walking."

Matt Lauer2 AP final

On Wednesday, NBC announced in shocking fashion while opening the "Today" show that its longtime host Matt Lauer had been fired due to "inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace."

This is the latest bombshell revelation of a powerful man in entertainment who has been taken down due to sexual misconduct allegations.

Though it's too soon to tell what the ramifications will be for "Today" in the battle for morning ratings, it's clear NBC has lost one of its major players. That's evident by how much the company was paying him.

Lauer, who has been a host on "Today" for 20 years, was earning $25 million a year, according to Variety.

The trade compiled the biggest estimated annual salaries of reality, news, and talk show hosts over the summer, and Lauer is in the top three on the list, which also includes the likes of Megyn Kelly, Ryan Seacrest, and Ellen DeGeneres.

Here are the top 20 paid hosts:

'Suits' started planning Meghan Markle's departure from the TV show a year ago

Meghan Markle

  • Meghan Markle has starred on the USA Network legal drama "Suits" since 2011.
  • She's leaving the show as a result of her new engagement to Britain's Prince Harry.
  • The show's creator said he saw the engagement coming, and started planing for her departure from the show a year ago.

It was clear to Meghan Markle's boss that her relationship with Prince Harry was going places. That meant she would probably be leaving "Suits," and he would have to figure out how to make that happen.

"I knew from a year ago that this relationship was burgeoning," Aaron Korsh said on the UK radio show "Today."

The couple began dating publicly in November 2016, but Markle later revealed that they actually had been dating quietly before that. That means Korsh was seeing some serious signs very early on in their relationship.

"And I had a decision to make, " he said, "because I didn’t want to intrude and ask her, 'Hey what’s going on and what are you going to do?' So collectively with the writers, we decided to take a gamble that these two people were in love and it was going to work out," Korsh said.

On Monday, the pair announced their engagement officially. And on Tuesday, USA finally confirmed reports that Markle was leaving the show after its seventh season. So writing Markle's character out was a well-placed bet for the show's creator, as well as one he believes could've been reversed had she and Harry not worked out.

"What we decided to do [was to] say, 'Look, I would rather have good things happen to Meghan in her life,' which would likely mean her leaving the show," he added. "So let’s plan on that and it’s much easier to undo that, if it came to it, than to just plan on her staying forever and then finding out she’s going to go."

meghan markle suits usa network.JPG

Markle has starred on the show since it premiered in 2011.

Over the next year, Markle says she wants to acquaint herself with the various communities in the UK and find ways to benefit people in need with her influence.

"I think what’s been really exciting is we talk about the transition of this out of my career, but into the role [of supporting] causes that have been really important to me," she told BBC after the engagement. "I can focus even more energy on [them] because very early out of the gate you realize that once you have access or a voice that people are willing to listen to with that comes a lot of responsibility, which I take very seriously."
