Comedy writer Billy Domineau has written for "Saturday Night Live" and The Onion, but his new venture may be his biggest yet. Domineau wrote a spec script for "Seinfeld" called "The Twin Towers" that is set in the days following 9/11. The script follows familiar "Seinfeld" format—each of the characters are caught in their own comic situation related to the terrible tragedy, with all of them coming together at the end.

While the idea sounds (and, honestly, is) in bad taste, the script is also well-written and funny. Slate called it "an idea...so terrible it’s actually brilliant," which is a dead-on assessment. Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer (and Newman!) each find a way to make America's biggest tragedy all about them, to hilarious and horrifying results.
"I was helping someone write a sketch a few months back and told them theirs needed to be an exercise in bad taste, 'Like imagine if there was a 9/11 episode of 'Seinfeld'...wait a minute,'" he said.
