Many fan favorites, like "Friday Night Lights,""Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," and "Despicable Me 3" will be available.

For people looking to watch more terrifying movies like "Veronica,""Cabin Fever" and "Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever" are two new options.

Family movies like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Kung Fu Panda 3" will be leaving Netflix.

Fans of Batman will also be disappointed to know that "Batman,""Batman & Robin,""Batman Forever," and "Batman Returns" will be removed.

Netflix's "13 Reasons Why" has a new warning message for viewers starting the show, which tells them about the tough topics handled and how the series might not be advisable for everyone to watch alone.

The show sparked a global conversation about depression and suicide after the first season premiered last year. The streaming service rolled out new title cards to play before the start of each episode after a wave of critics called for more advisories to be added. But the video message is a new level of warning. 

During a panel and research study announcement on Wednesday, Netflix unveiled the new video message (which was rolled out at the same time to play before the first season currently streaming).

"When you press play on the series, that will be the first thing that anybody will see," Netflix's Vice President of Original Series Brian Wright said. "And so if someone is feeling like that might be too intense for them right now, they can opt out."

The video features a series of the young stars of "13 Reasons Why," including Dylan Minnette (Clay Jensen) and Katherine Langford (Hannah Baker). You can watch the new video below:

"'13 Reasons Why' is a fictional series that tackles tough, real world issues, taking a look at sexual assault, substance abuse, suicide, and more. By shedding a light on these difficult topics, we hope we can help viewers start a conversation.

But if you are struggling with these issues yourself, the series may not be right for you or you may want to watch it with a trusted adult. And if you ever feel you need someone to talk with, reach out to a parent, a friend, a school counselor, or adult you trust, call a local help line, or go to 13reasonswhy.info. Why Netflix added the new video and commissioned a new study into how teens and parents responded to the show

The series was met with criticism by some who believed it glorified suicide or would be triggering for anyone currently experiencing suicidal ideations or depression. 

Netflix commissioned a new global report from Northwestern University in order to understand how teens and parents alike were responding to the show. 

The study found that overall teens found the show relatable and that it prompted them to communicate more about tough topics. The researchers also found that many parents and teens alike wished for Netflix to provide "additional resources and support."

The new video warning is part of the response to this conversation. 

"For me personally I love seeing the actors come out of character and say, 'This is me and this is a fictional story so just know that upfront,'" Yorkey said. "Especially for young viewers, just to know that this is fiction but also know that it has some tough stuff to watch and you may want to think about whether it's right for you or if you want to watch it with someone you trust."

That's where this new warning video comes in, but Netflix doesn't stop there.

"In addition to [the video], in the second season we've done another 'Beyond the Reasons' aftershow after episode 13, to continue the conversation with the cast and with experts and producers talking about some of the tough topics that you'll see in this season," Wright said.

The team at Netflix is also working with school counselors and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in order to help adults stay ahead of the conversation people might have when the second season airs sometime this year. 

"In advance of our [second season] launch, [we've] worked with groups around the world like school counselors to really help prepare these folks and arm them with an understanding of what the season contains so they can prepare for all of the dialogue that will probably flow from watching the show," Wright said. "We really want to be putting our best foot forward in helping there be a safe and vibrant and productive conversation in the world."

How the "13 Reasons Why" showrunner has responded to the ongoing discussion

The biggest concern raised by some following the first season of "13 Reasons Why" was a study suggesting there was a spike in the number of people searching for "suicide" and related topics, including "commit suicide" and "how to commit" suicide." 

"I think to take the conversation that's happening around the show and partnering with these groups of people whose jobs it is to provide this kind of outreach and resources is a smart and powerful answer to those concerns," executive producer and showrunner Brian Yorkey told INSIDER when asked about the internal reaction to those concerns.

"One of the things that's super exciting about season two that Brian [Wright] touched on in the panel discussion is that Netflix is doing all this work with different pro-social organizations to make sure that those resources are available," Yorkey said.

"They know what's coming and we can collaborate on what resources to have available and the right avenues to [have] open if there are questions or if people want more information. Which is what Googling is: Seeking more information, more than anything else."

The second season "13 Reasons Why" is expected sometime in 2018, though an exact air date is still unknown. 

"It will be coming this year. I can’t say more than that right now, but soon we will have more information for you guys," Wright said.

Netflix's teen drama series "13 Reasons Why" tells the story of high school student Hannah Baker's suicide and the ripple effect it has on the community. By the first season finale, another student named Tyler Down also appeared to be at his wit's end and planning a school shooting.

The coming second season of "13 Reasons Why" will explore this storyline more — but not in the way you might assume.

"While protecting spoilers, I will certainly say we explore Tyler's journey," showrunner and executive producer Brian Yorkey tells INSIDER. "One of the themes we've talked about a lot for season two is the journey from isolation to finding community, and I think Tyler suffers — especially at the end of season one — from some severe social isolation."

Throughout the first season, Tyler was shown "stalking" characters in the high school. He was also the target of a lot of bullying, just as Hannah Baker was subjected to unwanted negative attention that eventually contributed to her choice to commit suicide. 

On the first season finale, Tyler was seen examining a secret stash of guns and ammunition before going to school.

People have been speculating that Tyler is planning a on bringing his guns to school and shooting the students who have been bullying him (all while everyone is still dealing with the fallout of Hannah's suicide). 

A teaser for the second season simply said "there's more to the story," leading fans to think we'll explore both Hannah and other students' journeys.

"[Tyler is] thinking about making a tragic choice to restore to some sense of control or power," Yorkey said. "And I think we'll see over the course of season two that he continued to struggle with that but that hopefully there will be a community that is able to support him in a way that maybe there wasn't for Hannah."

Based on these vague hints, it sounds as if Tyler's unspoken plot against his classmates may never come to fruition. While Hannah's community failed to support her and prevent her death, perhaps we'll see the same people recognize warning signs from Tyler before it's too late.

How Tyler's story connects to the real-world gun reform debate

Yorkey says Tyler's storyline certainly ties into the very current nationwide conversation happening with gun reform in the wake of the Florida high school shooting that resulted in 17 deaths. 

"It's been really remarkable to watch these incredible Parkland students take the conversation forward and carry it when no one else will," Yorkey said. "Our hope is that Tyler's story in season two will be part of that ongoing conversation and will give more kids a chance to talk about things they've been feeling or things they might be seeing in classmates of theirs. "

Though Tyler won't be the sole focus of season two, his role will be significant and timely given the fury of attention being paid to school shootings in the real world right now. 

"Brian Yorkey wanted to explore somebody who is marginalized and is finding himself ostracized in society," Netflix's Vice President of Original Programming, Brian Wright, tells INSIDER. "[Season two is] looking at the process of that marginalization and what happens to a person — What are those series of events that leads someone to be so on the outside?"

Tyler's story will have a "hopeful" message in the end

After Netflix faced controversy over Hannah Baker's graphic suicide on the first season, the company is approaching Tyler's storyline with careful handling.

"With Tyler, it's a really powerful narrative thread that does take us through the season," Wright said. "We knew we were dealing with something that was very provocative and we wanted to be really mindful and careful about how we explored that story. Ultimately, as you watch all of the season, you'll see that mindfulness reflected."

Similar to Yorkey, Wright seemed to imply that Tyler's story won't end with more death — the way Hannah's did. Even on the first season finale, we saw Tyler remove Alex's photo from his potential "hit list" after remembering a time Alex stood up for him. Perhaps we'll see more students defend Tyler and recognize the signs of his struggles in school.

The main characters on "13 Reasons Why" spent much of the first season feeling regret for not intervening or reaching out to Hannah more. Knowing the second season will still center on the fallout of her death, it makes sense for fans to expect the students to change their behavior.

Netflix has now commissioned a study to see how the show is perceived by teens and parents alike, and they could be using the second season to show a story about the community preventing Tyler's school shooting plan instead of being bystanders.

"I do believe there's a very powerful and hopeful message there ultimately," Wright said.

The second season of "13 Reasons Why" will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2018.

Cheryl Blossom was right to fear her mother as Penelope Blossom went to extreme lengths and shocked fans on "Riverdale."

"I think the way [Penelope] reacts to Cheryl and Toni is going to be very hotly debated because of course it's very current to our world and old school attitudes do not go down well, as they shouldn't," actress Nathalie Boltt, who plays Penelope, told INSIDER.

That controversial step too far is Penelope dropping Cheryl off at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy group home for her "conversion" at the end of Wednesday's episode of The CW drama. As Cheryl's nurse explains, it's "to rid her of "all those naughty demons, the ones making you think such awful, unnatural thoughts."

Fans were horrified.

Penelope's general treatment of her daughter and her reaction to Cheryl's bisexuality is shocking, but it also shows her thirst for control.

"I think Cheryl is the last thing [Penelope] can control, so that's the only way she feels better or like she has any power," Boltt said. "She takes it out on somebody weaker than her. And in this case, only because she's her daughter and has to live with her."

Boltt doesn't think Penelope is just simply evil though. She believes there is a reason for Penelope's cruel behavior.

"No one is just bad," she said. "Everything is based on some kind of trauma and I think the audience will really get into that and really relate to that. Cheryl is the last thing she has left and instead of showing her love, she manipulates her and treats her as badly as she's probably been treated, because there's definitely a backstory...where you wonder about how she became so twisted and so mean."

But Boltt wants people to be angry with Penelope and recognize that she is emotionally abusive to her daughter. 

"I think that's it really good as an audience member to be able to stand up and hate Penelope, because then people voice their own feelings as to why it's wrong," she said. "That might help them stand up against abusive parents or advise one of their friends, because it's so clearly not OK how Penelope is."

Betty Cooper learned that Chic Cooper isn't exactly who she thought he was on Wednesday's episode of "Riverdale." 

The episode starts with Betty screaming at Chic about the results of the blood test she had done based on the blood she stole from his bathroom. 

"Blossom blood is Cooper blood, Chic," she says. "My dad was a Blossom, which means you would have tested positively for Blossom DNA. But you didn't, because you are an impostor."

Betty takes her discovery to Alice Cooper who explains that Chic wouldn't have Blossom blood because Hal Cooper is not Chic's father. When Betty presses her, she says it doesn't matter and he won't be back in their lives. 

Fans lost their minds at what seems to confirm many fan theories. 

Viewers have speculated from Chic's first introduction that he wasn't Hal's son. The main theory has been that FP Jones is his real dad. 

INSIDER spoke with Mädchen Amick, who plays Alice, about the FP theories, and she said the two do have quite the history. 

"They clearly have a past, and it's going to be really fun to see what really is FP and Alice's past together," she said. "You know there's a really good story there somewhere."

We know that Alice and FP used to date in high school. We also know that Alice was a member of the Southside Serpents. But any other details about their relationship are still unknown. Because of this past relationship with FP and Hal's hostility towards Chic, fans are more inclined to believe that FP is the father. 

Later, Alice learns that Jughead and Betty have been sleeping together, so she goes to Betty's room to ask if they are having safe sex. She subtly mentions that she knows the allure of the Jones men. 

"Whoa, wait, mom, did you and FP?" she asks a dangling question. "Is it possible that FP is Chic's dad?" 

"Absolutely not," Alice says.

But her denial isn't enough to deter fans from thinking he is. Hopefully soon, we'll know the whole truth.

The battle for Riverdale's mayor is pitting former lovers Hermione Lodge and Fred Andrews against each other. 

"I think having Fred run against her is not the greatest thing in the world," Marisol Nichols, who plays Hermione on the CW drama, told INSIDER. "He's probably the last person she wants to take down, but I think that Hermione has an instinctual strength and kill or be killed instinct within her that Fred just doesn't... I think she knows she can take him down, regretfully, but I think she knows she can do it easily."

Nichols said this particular battle is a little "heartbreaking," because of the romantic past the two share. Though she is now married to Hiram Lodge, Hermione and Fred dated in high school and then had a brief fling as adults. 

In a past interview with INSIDER, Nichols said she created her own history in her mind for the couple. 

"I had this wonderful idea that she had the choice between Fred [Andrews] and Hiram, and she made the wrong choice," she said. "Fred was the love of her life, but Hiram was intoxicating. So maybe it's that? Who knows what the writers have planned, but I like it."

Hermione knows she has crossed some lines and may have to cross more, but she still holds some feelings for Fred, Nichols said. As for her own feelings as an actress, Nichols said she would love to see the two reconcile. 

"I want to see them come together, even if it's just friendship or an unsteady trust. But at the same time, Hermione is like 'there's no way,'" she said. "She ultimately betrayed him and then has to go run against him and is going to have to take him out to win, and I think she feels there's no going back. She made her bed reluctantly and has to lie in it. But at the same time, you never know. She may hold a sliver of hope."

Ultimately, Nichols said Hermione just wants to escape from the life she currently lives.

"I think she wants freedom from Hiram, from all of it," she said. "Whether that means a divorce or split from Hiram or just an understanding that now their prospective businesses are in power and there's no longer a need to crucify everyone in their path. That's my theory at least."

• During Wednesday night's episode of CBS' "The Late Late Show," host James Corden played a game of "Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts with Drew Barrymore and John Boyega.

Things aren't working out the way the Lodge family hoped. There's also a shocking revelation about Chic's father, and Cheryl is left in a horrifying situation. But as always, the show featured some classic comic tropes and pop culture references. 

INSIDER worked with Archie Comics to reveal five references you might have missed.

Dr. Masters is a familiar face on the show and a familiar name from the comics.

Dr. Masters was first introduced on season two as the doctor taking care of Fred Andrews after he was shot. But he is a character who got his own Archie Comics series with "The Adventures of Young Dr. Masters."

Jughead refers to Betty as Tracy Flick from the movie "Election."

"Election" is a black comedy based on the novel of the same name. It follows Tracy Flick (played by Reese Witherspoon) as she runs for student body president in her high school election. 

Josie and Veronica sing a song from "Schoolhouse Rock."

After Josie urges everyone to vote and gives a shout-out to women, the girls break out into "Suffering' 'til Suffrage" from "Schoolhouse Rock." 

Some of the lyrics are: "Oh, we were suffering until suffrage/Not a woman here could vote, no matter what age/Then the 19th Amendment struck down that restrictive rule."

Netflix has picked up the majority of the British comedy troupe Monty Python's film and TV catalog, the group announced on Thursday.

The streaming service has secured the international rights to the group's classic comedy films like "Monty Python & the Holy Grail" and "Monty Python's Life of Brian," as well as its groundbreaking BBC sketch show, "Monty Python's Flying Circus."

The titles will appear on Netflix in the UK, Canada, and other international markets starting on April 15, with a US release date "following later in the year," according to the Python website.

Deadline reports that Netflix is also looking to produce new original content from the remaining Python members, which include John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam.

Netflix's hit series "13 Reasons Why" explored the suicide of high school student Hannah Baker and the impact of her choice on a small town community. Hannah left behind 13 tapes explaining the precisely how various peers and adults had impacted her life and ultimately contributed to her choice to take her own life. 

Though an exact date is unknown, executive producer Selena Gomez confirmed season two production had wrapped in December 2017. This means fans should expect to see the second season sometime in the late spring or summer of 2018. There will be 13 new episodes, but no more cassette tapes this time around. 

INSIDER is here to reveal everything we know so far about what's in store for "13 Reasons Why." Let's dive in.

The Bakers' lawsuit against Hannah's school will go to trial

By the finale of the first season, Hannah Baker's parents, Olivia and Andrew, have brought a lawsuit against Liberty High School, holding it responsible for their daughter's death. 

"Hannah Baker's parents suing the school district is a central story engine to the whole season," showrunner Brian Yorkey told INSIDER. "This question of whether and how the school was responsible for what happened to Hannah is a really interesting one."

Many of the students featured on Hannah's 13 tapes had been deposed already on the first season, but now we'll see them testify in an actual court. By the finale, Hannah's parents were finally in possession of the tapes themselves, which will surely be a key part of evidence in their case.

"As we see that all play out, we also see these kids come to court and testify and tell these stories under oath," Yorkey said. "Secrets are revealed and over the course of the season people will find that their opinion on who was complicit and who wasn't, and their opinions about Hannah, will go through a series of changes. Hopefully that will be a really interesting ride."

Why we'll see a "very different" Hannah in flashbacks

"13 Reasons Why" star Katherine Langford (Hannah) made waves last year when she said the second season will show a "very different" version of her character. Since Hannah was already dead by the start of the first episode, all of her appearances were flashbacks narrated by either Hannah herself (on the tapes) or memories Clay and the other students had of her. 

"On season one, Hannah told her story. And in season two, the other kids get a chance to tell their stories," Yorkey told INSIDER. "There's more to the story than what is on the tapes. And I think what we'll see […] will certainly complicate our understanding of who Hannah was."

"I don't think it will lessen the tragedy of her death in any ways [and] it doesn't change any of what she went through," Yorkey said. "But it provides a fuller picture of what her life was and also of the kids whose stories she tells — how they saw what happened between them and Hannah and what happened in the community."

Yorkey hopes the fans of the series will understand why we might see new sides to Hannah on this coming second season. 

"That's an important part of season two's storytelling and I think it will be an interesting challenge, especially for younger viewers, to understand that Hannah's story was not the definitive story."

As we noted, most of the flashbacks shown on the first season were portrayals of the events as Hannah was describing them on her tapes. This means we were hearing (and seeing) her side of the story. 

"She's not a reliable narrator and she didn't necessarily put everything on those tapes," Yorkey said. "There's always more to the story."

New characters are joining the cast

We'll see four new students — Nina, Mackenzie, Cyrus, and Chloe — who could have connections to both Hannah and the new dramas we'll see on the second season. 

Then there's Jackie, whose character is described as an advocate for victims of bullying. Another new adult in the mix will be the character of Sonya, a litigator who's likely part of the Bakers' lawsuit.

Lastly, there's the Liberty High School baseball coach, Rick, who we're guessing will be wrapped up in the new revelation of serial sexual abuse connected to the athletic departments.

A series of sexual assaults committed by athletic teams will be uncovered 

On the first season, it's revealed that both Hannah and another student, Jessica, were raped by a fellow student and local sports-star named Bryce. 

Hannah names Bryce as one of the reasons why she committed suicide, but Jessica (who is also on the tapes for other reasons) takes more time to come to terms with what happened with her. By the first season finale, Jessica had confronted her own substance abuse issues she was using as a coping mechanism for the trauma and had decided to open up to her dad about what happened to her. 

"Jessica's experience continues to be a central part of season two," Yorkey said during a recent Netflix panel. "We wanted to look at her recovery and what it [means] to go from being a victim of sexual of sexual assault to being a survivor and what that journey is like."

"We said from day one of season one in our writers' room that we wanted this show to be about the way we treat girls and women in this culture, and the way we raise boys up into men," Yorkey said. "In season two, we explore a storyline that has to do with an ongoing case of numerous sexual assaults that is connected to the athletic teams at Liberty High School."

This new case will examine "the ways sexual assault has been perpetrated [and documented] over a number of years" within the athletic department and Liberty High School as a whole.  

Yorkey says the parallel between this new storyline and the real-world #MeToo movement is happenstance. 

"We developed [it] many many months ago based on quite a bit of research we had done, but at the time we had these discussions about whether it was realistic to think serial sexual abuse could be kept secret by so many people for so long," Yorkey said. "And then we watched events unfold in our culture that confirmed... unfortunately it is possible for severe sexual abuse at a very high and systematic level to be kept secret and for institutions to be complicit in it."

The community might help stop Tyler's school shooting plan

The first season of "13 Reasons Why" ended with the implication that Tyler Down, a Liberty High student who was bullied often, was planning an attack on his fellow students with a stash of guns and bullets hidden in his room. 

But according to Yorkey, the community might reach out to Tyler in the ways it failed to do with Hannah. 

"One of the themes we've talked about a lot for season two is the journey from isolation to finding community, and I think Tyler suffers — especially at the end of season one — from some severe social isolation," Yorkey told INSIDER.

"[Tyler is] thinking about making a tragic choice to restore to some sense of control or power," Yorkey said. "And I think we'll see over the course of season two that he continued to struggle with that but that hopefully there will be a community that is able to support him in a way that maybe there wasn't for Hannah."

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen the “Helen” episode of season 2 of “Atlanta.”

There was a lot to digest in this week’s episode of “Atlanta.”

Titled “Helen,” Earn (Donald Glover) and Van (Zazie Beetz) take a trip to Helen, Georgia, for a Fastnacht party (think Oktoberfest meets Halloween). And along with navigating the bizarre costumes and strange games, we also see that Earn and Van’s relationship is on shaky ground. The episode ends with the two parting ways.

“Helen” marks only the second time in two seasons of “Atlanta” that an episode was directed by someone other than Glover or Hiro Murai. Amy Seimetz (“The Girlfriend Experience”) was brought on to helm, and admitted she was hesitant at first to take on the job.

“It is one of my favorite shows and I Skyped with Donald and Hiro and I told them, 'I just want to make sure that you guys know I don't know how to direct someone else's script so there's going to be a lot of learning from my mistakes.’ And they were like, 'That's what we do, we don't know how to direct TV either,’” Seimetz recalled to Business Insider. “So as soon as they said that I was game to do it.”

First starting out her career as an actress (she was last seen in “Alien: Covenant”), Seimetz has created a impressive filmography behind the camera with her feature film “Sun Don’t Shine” and directing two seasons of “The Girlfriend Experience,” all of which she wrote or co-wrote.

Coming on “Atlanta,” Seimetz was relieved to find that she was given little restriction on what she could do. She said a big reason for that was the need for a female point-of-view, as the “Helen” episode is one of the rare times in the series when the focus is on the Van character.

“We haven’t gotten to see her internal struggle with Earn, what she’s going through while he’s trying to make Paper Boy a thing,” she said. “I think they wanted a woman to tackle that.”

It also helped that Seimetz had an emotional connection to Helen, Georgia. “10 years ago I had a breakup with my boyfriend in Helen,” she said.

But other than that incredible coincidence, she said she didn't recall Helen being as bizarre as the episode depicts it.

Along with the strange costumes everyone's wearing, at one point Earn and Van are sitting in a circle playing a game that involves two tennis balls being passed around and everyone trying to bounce the ball into two jars in the center of the circle. Puzzled by the game, Earn ends up with both balls and then just gets up from his seat and places the balls into the cartons. Everyone is in awe at what he did and he wins the game.

“That was completely made up,” Seimetz said of the game. “Donald told me he was watching some YouTube video of a Swedish game and he just couldn't figure out what the f--- they were doing. He thought it was just the whitest game that you could ever play. He said, 'When we make it up it needs to be that no one knows what's going on.’”

So on the day of shooting, Seimetz and Glover tried to explain the game to the cast. “People were like, 'I don't get the goal of the game,' and we were like, ‘We don't either, we just made it up right now!’ I still have no idea why Earn won the game.”

Seimetz’s work will be seen later this season on “Atlanta” in episode seven titled “Champagne Papi.” She said this episode will focus on Van and her friends having a girls night out on the town.

And is the title of the episode a reference to Drake, whose Instagram account is named that?

“It definitely is a Drake reference,” she said. “But the less you know about it the better.”

Every so often, an unexpectedly hot police officer, law enforcement official, or security guard ends up going viral, breaking the internet and breaking hearts.

After the tragedy of Hurricane Irma, Gainesville, Florida, police officer Daniel Rengering was one of three law enforcement officials to make the internet's hearts go aflutter thanks to a now-deleted selfie on their department's Facebook page in the wake of their disaster relief efforts.

Social media immediately fell for Officer Rengering and his two colleagues' rugged good looks — and they made it known in the comment section. "I feel safer just looking at this picture," one of the tamer commenters said. "Bet the Gainesville police department is already getting calls for cougar sightings," another Facebook user wrote.

Eventually, Officer Michael Hamill, one of the three men pictured, was exposed for telling anti-Semitic jokes and making light of the Holocaust on his personal Facebook page. Hamill resigned in the wake of the scandal.

For his part, Officer Rengering used the massive public attention to sell official calendars featuring his photos. All of the proceeds from their sales went to the Basketball Cop Foundation, a charity that aims to improve youth and police relations, as Rengering continued to work in the police force and explore a career in modeling.  

Now, Officer Rengering is back in the limelight and is reported to be taking his talents to the next level on Primetime TV.

Both TMZ and The Daily Mail reported that Rengering will be appearing on the next season of "Survivor," which means that he could win $1 million if he makes it all the way to the end in the island of Fiji.

According to TMZ, producers reached out to Rengering about six months ago. It's alleged that he'll begin filming season 37 of the CBS show by the of the month. His position at the police department will also allegedly remain open if he chooses to return when he's finished filming.

For his part, Rengering has made no mention of the reality show, which pits a diverse cast of players against both each other and nature in the hopes of one coming out on top and taking home the grand prize, on his official Twitter account, other social media pages, or his website.

INSIDER reached out to both CBS and Officer Rengering's team for comment about the casting news but did not immediately hear back from CBS.

Rengering's management said that they could not comment on "any casting speculations."

For many original series Netflix has put out, the company's marketing has been either non-existent or subtle, allowing its viewers to determine what becomes a hit. In 2016, "Stranger Things" quietly became a phenomenon through word of mouth, with no major advertisements before it made its debut on the streaming service. 

Now, Netflix is starting to decide what it thinks will be the next big show. 

In January, Netflix announced that in 2018, it would increase its marketing budget by 50% to $2 billion. So that's why you definitely didn't miss "Altered Carbon," the first freshman series Netflix put major marketing behind.

But there are a bunch of other shows that might have slipped under your radar, and we collected 29 of our favorites.

Here's all the Netflix original shows you might have overlooked (along with their Rotten Tomatoes score and why you should watch):

"Santa Clarita Diet"— two seasons (2017-present)

Why you should watch it: Drew Barrymore eats people, and her chemistry with Timothy Olyphant ("Deadwood,""Justified") is sparkling. It's also a clever satire of suburban life.

Netflix description: "When the black sheep son of a respected family threatens to expose dark secrets from their past, sibling loyalties are put to the test."

Why you should watch it: The cast, from Kyle Chandler to Linda Cardellini to Ben Mendelsohn, brings life to the otherwise predictable family drama. 

"Marvel's The Punisher"— one season (2017)

Critic score: 63%

Netflix description: "A former Marine out to punish the criminals responsible for his family's murder finds himself ensnared in a military conspiracy."

Why you should watch it: It's the most ambitious Marvel Netflix show. 

In today's crowded TV landscape, networks and streaming services have all increased the quantity of their offerings — at times to the detriment of quality. 

While series like Fox's "The Orville" and NBC's "Taken" have been consistently critically panned, many of the shows on this list draw a substantial enough viewership to justify their existence. 

But to figure out which current shows are worth avoiding, we turned to the reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes to select the most critically loathed scripted show that each network and service is currently producing.

We excluded children's shows, talk shows, and docuseries, and we only selected from networks with multiple scripted shows that had enough reviews to receive a "Fresh" or "Rotten" designation. We also excluded any network whose lowest-rated show was over 75 on the critic scale, and used audience scores to break any ties within networks.

Here is the worst current TV show on each network, according to critics:

We need to talk about Bertie on "The Walking Dead."

If that name doesn't ring a bell, the character is one of the Hilltop survivors who has been lurking in the background since the end of season six. 

Bertie (Karen Ceesay) almost met her end on Sunday's episode when a zombified Tobin went on the attack. If she bit the dust, most viewers probably wouldn't have blinked an eye. She would have looked like another background casualty. But there's a reason Bertie was saved at the last minute by Carol.

While Morgan is out here losing his mind and Rick and Negan are brawling in a zombie-infested den like children, Bertie has played a small, but significant role on seven episodes of the series.

Sometimes she speaks. Sometimes she just shows up for a brief few moments in the background. But every time Bertie shows up, she's keeping the Hilltop in line with Maggie. If you go back and follow her story arc, you'd see how important she's been in the fight against Negan's Saviors. 

The first time we saw Bertie was on season six when she and a few members of the Hilltop were being saved by Rick's crew. They were then brought back to their community. 

The next time we saw Bertie on season seven, she spoke up for the community and told Maggie they wanted to help in the fight against Negan. Several episodes later, we saw her learning how to throw a knife and protect and defend the community. We assume there was some other training Bertie excelled at because the next time we see her on the season seven finale, she's at the front of the line with Maggie and Enid firing at Saviors.

This season, Bertie helped armor vehicles heading to the Sanctuary on the show's premiere. Though we didn't see her, we learn she has been keeping track of the food inventory at the Hilltop. Maggie's alerted that she needs to cut rations by a third before Georgie shows up to bless the group with a generous donation of her food supply. 

Sunday’s episode shows more of Bertie than we've seen in a long time. She’s among the survivors sent out to give a warning when the Saviors are about to approach the Hilltop. 

We almost lost Bertie Sunday and it would have been a hit to the Hilltop. She's one of Maggie's right-hand women. And from the looks of it, Maggie can use a few more level-headed women like her and Dianne by her side. 

So let's get some more time with Bertie. She seems to have it more together than Rick, Daryl, and Tara, and certainly moreso than Morgan who’s too busy seeing things.

Maggie led the Hilltop to a bittersweet victory against the Saviors on Sunday's "The Walking Dead."

As Simon and the Saviors infected Maggie's group with tainted weapons, we saw a few familiar faces for the first time in a while. Fans of the comics may have noticed a twist to a big moment from the series. Keep reading to see all of the call backs and references you may have missed.

Simon pulled out an extra piece of attire for the attack on the Hilltop.

You may have been too caught up in the massive fight to notice its significance. 

Simon whips out a jacket that looks quite similar to Negan's.

We've seen Simon wear the jacket before, like on the season seven finale seen above, but it seems even more important Simon's wearing it now with Negan missing. Simon has assumed leadership of the Saviors with Negan missing in action. What better way to take over Negan's role than by looking the part? 

Bad news for Simon is that Negan's alive. When he returns, it won't be good news for him.

It's not just Negan's clothing that Simon's mirroring.

When the Saviors reach the Hilltop gates, Simon delivers a familiar line of dialogue while throwing some shade to Negan.

"Well, here I was hoping to give that gate a big old wet, sloppy kiss and there she goes playing hard to get," Simon says after Maggie's spike strip in the road derails his plans to crash through the Hilltop gate.

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Sunday's "The Walking Dead,""Do Not Send Us Astray."

A big fight on Sunday's episode of "The Walking Dead" resulted in the deaths of multiple Saviors and members of the Hilltop community. 

The Saviors had an extra weapon on their side. A bunch of the Hilltop members turned into walkers after they were injured with weapons covered in zombie guts. Tara's currently unsure of whether or not she's infected after being hit with an arrow by Dwight. (We have reason to think she's safe.)

But many fans were concerned that Rick may have gotten infected by the Saviors, too.

After all, he had a giant gash on his forehead which Michonne and Siddiq both advised he should get cleaned up. 

There's just one problem with that theory

Rick didn't get that cut on Sunday's episode. And from what we saw during the fight, Rick didn't suffer any new injuries at the Hilltop.

The massive cut on his head was from his fight with Negan the week before.

"Yes, he has a gash on his head from attacking Negan," Andrew Lincoln confirmed on Sunday's aftershow, "Talking Dead."

You can see it clearly throughout their fight in the zombie-filled basement.

Rick's just been going through life for the past day with a giant blood stain on his face. It doesn't even seem to phase him. He obviously has bigger problems to be concerned with than some dried up blood. 

Even if Rick was cut up by a weapon covered in walker blood, we've seen the leader miraculously survive those kind of wounds. 

Fans were really concerned Rick may have mixed his blood with walker blood back on the third episode of season six while killing one of the undead. It turned out that wasn't the case.

Or Rick just has some super healing powers. 

Either way, we're pretty sure Rick is going to be just fine. It's Tara who has a little bit of worrying to do. But she'll probably be fine as well.

The Saviors put their dastardly plan into effect on Sunday's episode of "The Walking Dead" when they went to the Hilltop.

Instead of simply slaughtering the survivors, they made sure to slice and dice their enemies up with their tainted weapons to infect them with zombie blood. It worked pretty effectively as many people in the community fell ill and turned.

Last chance to head back before spoilers.

Tara was among the people at the Hilltop to get injured during the Savior attack. Enid, Rosita, and Daryl looked at their friend as if she may be a ticking time bomb waiting to collapse at any moment.

Many immediately wondered whether or not Tara's time on the show was limited.

What's the deal? Is Tara a goner?

Probably not.

Unlike the rest of the people at the Hilltop, Tara hasn't exhibited any signs of illness or fever.

Dwight most likely shot Tara with an arrow that wasn't covered in walker guts.

This guy knows what we're talking about:

But I thought all the Saviors covered their weapons in zombie blood.

Viewers were meant to believe that Dwight shot Tara with a dirty arrow, but this entire scene is very similar to one from the comics.

In the graphic series, Dwight is ordered by Negan to shoot Rick with an arrow when he has a clean shot. Dwight follows orders so he doesn't come under suspicion by the Savior leader. 

What Negan and Rick both don't realize at the time is that Dwight shoots Rick with a clean arrow.

We bet Dwight did the same thing here under the circumstances. 

Sure, Tara just tried to kill Dwight, but he wasn't out searching for revenge. When Simon asked if he wanted to kill Tara, Dwight hesitated and said he was good.

He most likely shot Tara with an arrow in order to get to her before Simon could try and kill her. 

There was really no great solution to that situation without it looking like Dwight was a double-crosser. Sorry, D.

Stormy Daniels' highly anticipated interview with "60 Minutes" is expected to give the CBS news-magazine show its best ratings since November 2008, when Barack and Michelle Obama sat down for their first post-election interview, Deadline reports.

The adult-film actress opened up in the interview on Sunday about her alleged affair with President Trump. Daniels told Anderson Cooper that she was once threatened with physical violence in 2011 after she attempted to share her story of the alleged affair.

Daniels' interview scored over twice the average number of viewers for "60 Minutes," according to Nielsen's preliminary "overnight" measurement. Once the final numbers are in, the interview is expected to post the highest ratings for the show since the Obamas' 2008 interview netted 24.5 million viewers. 

"60 Minutes" benefited on Sunday from a huge ratings lead-in of an NCAA basketball game between Kansas and Duke that went into overtime. Daniels was the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter over the course of Sunday evening, including for several hours after the interview concluded. 

The White House has denied the alleged affair, which Daniels said began in 2006 and lasted 10 months. Shortly before the 2016 presidential election, Daniels signed a nondisclosure agreement and accepted $130,000 in "hush money" from a company linked to Trump's personal attorney.

Daniels sued the president earlier this month in California state court, claiming the agreement was not valid in part because Trump did not sign it. She was also hit with a cease-and-desist letter  from Trump's personal counsel following the "60 Minutes" interview.
