Archie and his buddies broke out into the comic world in 1941 and have been a staple ever since.

The characters have continued through multiple comic variations and cartoon series, and are now a CW hit drama. 

"Riverdale" features the beloved comic characters of Archie, Veronica, Jughead, Betty, and more, but with a new twist. Here's how the classic characters compare to their real life TV counterparts.

"The Walking Dead" returns to AMC October 22. And when it does Rick, Daryl, Michonne, and company will be going up against their biggest threat yet. 

While they're fighting for their freedom from the bat-wielding Negan and his Saviors, there are a lot of unanswered questions from the season seven finale and beyond the show has left wide open.

Where is Gregory?

One of the few characters we didn't see on the season seven finale was the official leader of the Hilltop, Gregory.

The last time we saw him, he was planning a road trip to Negan's Sanctuary compound. Is that where we'll see him wind up, blissfully unaware of the impending war?

Is Maggie now the official leader of the Hilltop?

No one really seems to like Gregory and Maggie did teach the Hilltop survivors how to defend themselves against the Saviors. Maggie was commanding the Hilltop group pretty well inside Alexandria and gave a big speech to everyone at the end of the season seven finale.

Will Negan try and capture Maggie?

Negan seemed pretty upset with his right-hand man Simon after he learned that Glenn's wife was still alive and residing at the Hilltop. Negan doesn't seem to like it one bit.

"That widow is alive, guns a-blazin'!" Negan cried out to his second-in-command during the big finale fight. "You taste that, Simon? That is the taste of sh—!"

While the Savior leader said he was interested in getting Daryl back, could he also be interested in Maggie?

On Sunday's "Last Week Tonight," John Oliver called out President Trump's response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria. 

After Trump took to Twitter on Saturday to bash the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico, for her "poor leadership" during the disaster, he faced widespread condemnation. 

Oliver seized on what he called a "horribly racist"tweet from Trump, which suggested that "they," the people of Puerto Rico, "want everything to be done for them."

"Really? The primary obstacle to hurricane relief has been Puerto Rican laziness?" Oliver said. "You have got to hang it to Trump: anybody can say horribly racist things about Hispanic people on a golden escalator, but it takes real balls to do it while their fellow citizens are dying.

"Trump is basically saying, ‘When hurricanes hit our people, they’re not hitting our best. They’re killing poors; they’re killing lazies; and some, I assume, have said nice things about me."

Mad Men alum Jon Hamm has joined the cast of Amazon Studios and BBC Two’s Good Omens as the archangel Gabriel, the primary messenger of God.

Based on Neil Gaiman’s (American Gods) and Terry Pratchett’s (Colour of Magic) novel and written by Gaiman, Good Omens takes place in 2018 when the Apocalypse is near and Final Judgment is set to descend upon humanity. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, and tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan — except a somewhat fussy angel, and a fast-living demon are not looking forward to the coming war, and someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

The character of Gabriel has a fleeting role in the original novel but showrunner Gaiman explains why he is being developed in the screenplay:

“Once we had finished writing Good Omens, back in the dawn of prehistory, Terry Pratchett and I started plotting a sequel. There would have been a lot of angels in the sequel. When Good Omens was first published and was snapped up for the first time by Hollywood, Terry and I took joy in introducing our angels into the plot of a movie that was never made. So when, almost thirty years later, I started writing Good Omens for TV, one thing I knew was that our angels would have to be in there.

The leader of these angels is Gabriel. He is everything that Aziraphale isn’t: he’s tall, good-looking, charismatic and impeccably dressed. We were fortunate that Jon Hamm was available, given that he is already all of these things without even having to act. We were even more fortunate that he’s a fan of the books and a remarkable actor.”

“I read Good Omens almost twenty years ago,” said Hamm. “I thought it was one of the funniest, coolest books I’d ever read. It was also, obviously, unfilmable. Two months ago Neil sent me the scripts, and I knew I had to be in it.”

The six-part television adaptation is currently in production and will be released by Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries in 2019, exclusively for Prime Members. It will be followed by a run on BBC Two in the UK.

Good Omens is being produced by the comedy team at BBC Studios, the BBC’s commercial production arm, Narrativia and The Blank Corporation, in association with BBC Worldwide.

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for "The Big Bang Theory."

Season 11 of "The Big Bang Theory" kicked off September 25 with not one, but two big big announcements. Not only are Sheldon and Amy engaged, but Bernadette and Howard learned they're pregnant again.

Naturally, you would think the second episode of the season would pick up right where the last one left off and address those two big announcements with a celebration now that the gang is all united on the same coast. Oddly, that wasn't the case.

Other than a minor footnote in the episode's introduction, you really don't hear much about Shamy's pending nuptials and wedding plans or Benadette's second baby. The latter is the most bizarre since Melissa Rauch's character looks like she moved forward in time several months since the last episode.

Even Sheldon makes a brief comment at the episode's start about how Bernadette looks more than three months pregnant. For a moment, when the episode began, I was actually wondering if I was watching a new episode and not one from Bernadette's first pregnancy. 

Mind you, Rauch is pregnant in real life so maybe this was their way of working that into the show. Still, it was something that puzzled some fans of the show, too.  

Instead, the focus of the episode revolved around Leonard botching a radio interview after he claimed physics is dead. As a result, he put his job at the university at risk. 

The placement of the episode felt random so early in the season, especially right after last week's big news. While "The Big Bang Theory" is an episodic series — one which you can tune into effortlessly week after week without needing a refresher course — this episode could have fit in anywhere throughout the season, or season's past to be honest. It almost felt like we were watching an episode meant for later in the season given how far Bernadette appeared to be in her pregnancy in one week's time.

We did get a good back and forth between Bernadette and Amy bragging about their career accomplishments while the guys have all hit rough patches. However, it was still odd the two women on the show didn't once mention Amy's engagement to Sheldon. 

It just seemed odd to finally give fans what they wanted in Shamy and not do anything the week afterward to acknowledge or celebrate that achievement. It's something the show has been working seasons toward.

The good news is that next week's episode looks like it will dive right into Shamy's wedding plans where Monday's episode stumbled.

"The Big Bang Theory" airs Monday on CBS at 8 p.m. until the week of November 2 when it will return to its regular Thursday night schedule.

Following Sunday night's mass shooting in Las Vegas, the "Late Late Show" host James Corden used his opening monologue on Monday to address his perspective: As an immigrant in the US, he was shocked by the frequency of such tragedies.

"Last night was the biggest mass shooting in United States history," Corden said. "That's a record that's been set twice in just the 2 1/2 years that I've been living in America."

Corden argued that easy access to guns in the US set the country apart from other developed nations like his home country, Britain, where mass shootings almost never happen.

"I come from a place where we don't have shootings at this frequency, so it's hard for me to fathom," he said. "But it should be hard for everyone to fathom. Gun violence should not be a staple of American life. Some say it's too early to talk about gun control. For those victims last night, it's far too late."

Corden mentioned a quote he saw by Robert Kennedy that stuck with him: "Tragedy is a tool for the living to gain wisdom, not a guide by which to live."

"Now is the time for gaining that wisdom," Corden said. "Somewhere, it has to stop. Maybe the time for the thoughts and prayers of Congress members and the president have passed. We need to look to them to actually do something to prevent this from ever happening in the future."

That means there’s no user interface, no apps to install — nothing. Just find the content on your phone and hit the “Cast” button.

Chromecast was first introduced a few years back, and it has gone through a couple of updates since then. If you’re more plugged into the Android ecosystem, you might want something that comes pre-loaded with Google’s Android TV. If so, there’s no better device than the NVIDIA Shield, which was first launched a few years ago and has been updated a few times since then.

Like our top pick, this media streamer supports 4K content, including videos from Google Play Movies and TV, which is great news for Android users. On top of that, NVIDIA announced that it will soon be getting integration with Google Assistant for voice control.

No comedian wants to be called the voice of his or her generation, but it is undeniable that Aziz Ansari is the voice of his. His is perhaps the first generation to think the internet is more important than television and for whom the internet is at the center of everything they do; dating, eating, transportation, self-expression, friendship. Aziz is not concerned with New York versus L.A. or airline food, but don’t get him started on texting protocols and online dating profiles. He talks the language of a generation who lives online.

Aziz has no time for the conventions of television because TV is not his God, and in a world that revolves around being online, the conventions of television are not so sacred. In the latest season of “Master of None,” he and Alan Yang delivered an episode with nearly 9 minutes of silence, one in black and white, one almost entirely in Italian and one that had none of the main cast members on-screen. How is this kind of disregard for the very form of television comedy repaid? With back-to-back writing Emmys, of course.

“Master of None” is almost nothing like the show that he pitched to us. It is better. He is better. Confidence is not the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of the character traits of a comedian, but Aziz is confident in every aspect of his work, and at least on the surface, it would seem in life too. He knows his material, he knows his audience and he knows how to connect his material and his audience with a remarkable hit rate. With his track record, there are no ideas from Aziz that I can dismiss without long consideration. Being right and being funny are sometimes in conflict, but not for Aziz. He is right about when to go for the laugh and when to go for heartstrings and does both like a “master.”

Get ready for a giant shakeup when "Once Upon a Time" returns to ABC. 

Not only will the show return on a new night — Fridays — but much of the beloved cast fans know will be gone. After the season six finale, six of the longtime cast members left the show paving the way for plenty of new faces. 

How will the new season look without Emma Swan, Snow White, Prince Charming, and more? Keep reading to see what to expect when the fairy-tale show returns to TV October 6.

Many familiar faces will be gone from the show.

In May, Jennifer Morrison told fans on Facebook she would be leaving the show after six seasons of playing Emma Swan. After the season six finale, five more actors followed suit when their contracts ended.

The other characters who will be gone next season are Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), Henry (Jared S. Gilmore), Belle (Emilie de Raven), and Zelena (Rebecca Mader).

But it won't be the last time we see them all.

Morrison already told fans she'll be back for at least one episode. Emma Swan just found her happy ending at the end of season six, so her complete absence while her husband Hook remains on the show would be a bit weird.

Other than Morrison, Jared Gilmore will return briefly as a young Henry when the season begins. Belle (Emilie de Ravin) will reunite with her love interest Rumple for the season's fourth episode and Regina's sister Zelena (Rebecca Mader) will be a recurring character.

In May, coshowrunner Edward Kitsis said they hope to see every one back at some point.

Overall, season seven will be a giant reset button for the show.

The season six finale gave a glimpse at a very different show with a flash forward in time.

Showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis are careful to say it's not a reboot.

"I hesitate to use the word 'reboot.' We’re more thinking about it as a hybrid of a lot of things," Kitsis told The Hollywood Reporter. "We’re paying homage to the original premise, but there are certain characters who are returning and some who are not."

Dungey, however, explained it as just that at the ABC upfront in May.

For the most part, Netflix has won over critics with its innovative approach to adult animation. 

Since the premiere of "BoJack Horseman" in 2014 — which is CEO Reed Hastings' favorite Netflix show— the streaming service has released four other original animated shows that deal in mature themes.

Its latest, comedian Nick Kroll's series "Big Mouth," came out on Friday.

President Trump visited Puerto Rico on Tuesday, 13 days after Hurricane Maria devastated the island — and Stephen Colbert, for one, is very thankful he did.

Why? Because what transpired was comedy gold for the late-night host.

Colbert showed footage of Trump interacting with hurricane victims, in which the president told one couple to "have a good time."

"Have a good time? You’re at a disaster site, you’re not working the floor of your casino," Colbert said.

Colbert then showed footage of a press conference in San Juan, when Trump said that Puerto Rico's weather is "second to none," expect for the hurricanes, "and you really got hit." Trump said this in front of victims and island government members.

"That is 'Trumpsplaining' at it’s best," Colbert said, before moving into his Trump voice: "You probably didn’t notice with your beautiful weather, but you guys had a hurricane, it was a huge one."

At the same press conference, Trump notified Puerto Rico that it had "thrown our budget a little out of wack."

"What! The budget is out of wack?" asked Colbert. "That’s like a fireman rescuing you from a burning building and then saying, 'You do understand what our water bill is going to be now right?'"

But Colbert really got going when talking about Trump's decision to start tossing paper towels into the crowd at one point. (This moment instantly went viral on Tuesday.)

"After that he went to a hospital and distributed antibiotics with a t-shirt cannon," Colbert joked.

OJ Simpson was released on October 1 from the Nevada prison where he spent 9 years imprisoned for attempted armed robbery. Now, the former "Trial of the Century" defendant and NFL star is looking to cash in on his first post-jail TV appearance. 

According to The Hollywood Reporter, several associates of Simpson have contacted major television networks in pursuit of a seven-figure payout for his first interview, but none of the traditional media outlets are biting.

"It is treacherous," one TV news veteran told THR, while another said they wouldn't touch him with a "10-foot pole."

ABC, CBS, and NBC have all reportedly passed on paying for an interview with Simpson, which would violate their news division standards. A+E Networks and Discovery have also declined. 

The New York Post reported last month that Simpson would be seeking between $3 million and $5 million for an interview.

As THR notes, however, any money that Simpson makes would be subject to seizure for the mostly unpaid settlement that he still owes the family of Ron Goldman, after a civil jury found him liable for the killings of Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson in 1994.

The sum Simpson owes the Goldmans has grown from $33.5 million to close to $70 million in interest for the unpaid settlement, according to THR.

HBO pulled out all the stops for its new "Westworld: The Experience" pop up location in New York City. Happening in conjunction with New York Comic Con, "Westworld: The Experience" is a new (and very exclusive) interactive event that any "Westworld" fan will love. 

Keep reading for a look inside the experience (which features new season two footage and free cocktails) to see what trip to "Westworld" would entail.

The location of the experience is a secret. Only fans who have successfully booked an appointment will know exactly where to find the fake "Delos" office.

New York Comic Con attendees need to find the hidden "Westworld" booth to make an appointment for the experience. Appointments are doled out on a first come, first served basis starting at 9 a.m. each day of the con (which runs from Thursday 10/5 to Sunday 10/8).

The appointment booth will change location each day. In order to find the newest station, you must follow the "Westworld" Facebook and Twitter pages.

To book an appointment you need to show your New York Comic Con badge and an ID (the experience is only for fans 21 years old and up).

Small groups are brought into the main area, where costumes from the show and a several weapons are on display.

Hosts dressed in all white are there to answer any questions (and encourage you to think about what weapon you'd use in the park).

Last week, Chip and Joanna Gaines shared some bittersweet news on their blog.

The two are ending their HGTV hit show, "Fixer Upper," after its fifth season, coming this November.

"We need to catch our breath for a moment," the couple explained in their post. "Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired, and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses."

After their announcement, reports surfaced earlier this week that Chip and Joanna were leaving "Fixer Upper" over security concerns. An anonymous source told Us Magazine that, despite the couple's efforts to keep their children's privacy intact, "people drive by and like to take pictures in front of their house."

The Gaineses have previously talked about the importance of their family's privacy. In a conversation about the couple's four young children, Joanna told People in 2016: "They're so young and we want to give them the chance to have a normal childhood."

However, it turns out Chip and Joanna decided to leave "Fixer Upper" for exactly the reasons they laid out in their blog post, Entertainment Tonight (ET) first reported. "Chip and Jo's decision to leave Fixer Upper is truly just based on wanting to catch their breath for a minute; to rest, refresh, and spend even more time with their family and growing businesses," a representative for the Gaineses told ET.

The representative, who confirmed this statement in an email to INSIDER, continued: "It is not based on concerns for their family's safety or anything else people might read."

In fact, Chip and Joanna explicitly wrote in their initial announcement that their decision to end "Fixer Upper" had nothing to do with their family, marriage, "or anything else [their fans would] inevitably read."

It's a message the Gaineses have repeatedly shared over the past year. In April, Joanna debunked rumors that she was leaving HGTV with a blog post titled, "Don't believe everything you read." Three months later, she slammed rumors that she was leaving "Fixer Upper" to start her own skin care and makeup line.

"This is a SCAM!" Joanna wrote on Instagram. "We have nothing to do with it and have been trying to stop it for some time."

In August, Chip took to Twitter to shut down divorce rumors. In response to a fan who tweeted, "I'm so sick of these 'stories' claiming @joannagaines and @chippergaines breaking up," Chip replied: "Won't ever happen ... you can take that to the bank! #loveOfMyLife."

And in September, the couple laughed off the same rumors on NBC's "Today" show. It was the first time the two addressed the issue together.

Through it all, Chip and Joanna have always maintained that their family and marriage come first. "Jo and I both made a commitment pretty early on that the two of us are the most important variable," Chip told People in June. "If we can figure out how to be right as a couple, then obviously we a have a lot better opportunity to be right for our kids," he continued.

So while "Fixer Upper" may be ending, it sounds like Chip and Joanna are excited to start a new chapter in their lives, together as always.

"Our family is healthy and our marriage has honestly never been stronger," the couple assured fans in their blog post last week. "Who knows what the future holds," the couple added, "but we're excited for whatever is around the bend and in the meantime, we will definitely be staying in touch."

ABC has given a script commitment with penalty to a half-hour single-camera comedy starring comedian Trae Crowder, known for his stage persona the Liberal Redneck. Inspired by Crowder’s life, the project hails from Warner Bros. TV and Rob Thomas’ studio-based Spondoolie Productions.

The untitled Trae Crowder Project was co-written by Crowder and Party Down creator John Enbom, who co-created Starz’s cult comedy series Party Down with Thomas, Dan Etheridge and Paul Rudd. It follows liberal-minded redneck Crowder, who has just moved back to his small Tennessee hometown for a new job, where he struggles to balance the needs of his wife and son with his chaotic family and complicated Southern heritage.

Enbom and Crowder executive produce with Thomas and his frequent collaborators Etheridge and Danielle Stokdyk.

Last season, a single-camera comedy starring Trae Crowder about his Liberal Redneck character returning to his Tennessee hometown from the same creative auspices was set up at Fox with a script commitment plus penalty. The project now has been redeveloped with a new premise.

Thomas, Stokdyk and Etheridge also executive produce the CBS multi-camera comedy I Mom So Hard, which has a pilot production commitment at CBS, and Thomas is redeveloping his adaptation of The Lost Boys at the CW. He is repped by UTA.

Crowder, along with his comedy touring partners Drew Morgan and Corey Ryan Forrester, co-authored The Liberal Redneck Manifesto: Draggin’ Dixie Outta the Dark, published in 2016 by Atria Books. The trio now are in their second year of touring nationally. Crowder became known for his Liberal Redneck videos, which went viral on Facebook when they launched last year. Crowder, who started a weekly podcast, Corey & Drew, this year, is repped by Nat Goldberg at Arsonhouse Entertainment, Gersh and attorney Bradley Garrett.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for "Westworld" season two.

HBO is hyping up "Westworld" fans this weekend with an exclusive experience event at New York Comic Con. During the course of the experience, a staged evacuation takes place that mimics the chaotic robot revolution ending of season one.

After fake security guards usher visitors into an elevator, an audio recording is played. It's an announcement being made by Ashley Stubbs (played by Luke Hemsworth). After assuring guests everything will be fine, he says "parks one, three, and six" are undergoing emergency evacuation procedures. 

Though Stubbs' fate was left unclear on season one, the new season two trailer showed him alive and well.

But more importantly — is this confirmation that there are six Delos parks? 

We knew Westworld was likely just the first Delos park creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy had decided to show the audience. In the original 1973 movie, there are two additional parks: Medieval World and Roman World. 

During a recent Vanity Fair Summit event, Nolan was asked outright why Medieval World and Roman World were absent in season one of the HBO adaptation.

"We had to save something for season two," Nolan said. 

But this is still a very vague answer, and doesn't feel like surefire confirmation. Plus Nolan commented on a Reddit post sharing news about this quote, and simply wrote "/s"— a common demarcation used by Redditors to note sarcasm. Was his answer to Vanity Fair meant to be read as sarcasm?

Then, as we noted last year, Nolan once outright said "no" when a fan asked if we would see Medieval World and Roman World, but even then he left the window open for additional worlds to come into the series.

Plus we can't forget the teased possibility of a Samurai or Shogun world from the season finale. While Maeve was making her escape, she and the other hosts ran through a development area of Delos marked "SW" that had Asian hosts inside.

While in the new "Westworld" experience event, we also spotted another "SW" sign. Combine that with the recording of Stubbs mentioning a "park six," and we're closer than ever to learning the truth about just how many park varieties will be included on "Westworld."

Fans will likely have to wait until season two airs to learn for certain. In the meantime we'll continue taking Nolan's hints with a grain of salt. See more of the New York Comic Con "Westworld" pop up in our full review here.

Netflix shares reached a record high on Thursday, following the company's decision to raise its prices for US subscribers. 

Netflix stock closed at $194.39 per share on Thursday, up 5.4% for the day.

The figure is an all-time high, according to Variety.

Netflix raised the price of its most popular "standard plan" service to $10.99 a month from $9.99.

Its highest-tier plan, which supports 4K video resolution and four simultaneous streams, will increase to $13.99 a month from $11.99.

The company's lowest-tier plan will not change from its current price of $7.99 per month.

The stock surge suggests investors are confident the price increase won't cause big subscriber losses, as Netflix has continued to improve the quality of its content offering over the last year, and has therefore boosted its pricing power. 

RBC analysts have estimated that Netflix's price hike will boost its revenue by about $650 million in 2018.

The price increase comes as Netflix continues to spend more money on content. The company will spend close to $7 billion next year, according to its content boss, Ted Sarandos.
